Who Is Your King?

My Sermon Notes
The devil has always wanted to be God.
Isa 14:12-14
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
God gave Adam kingomship over the earth
Gen 1:26,28
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Gen 2:16-17
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
We know that this is speaking of a spiritual death.
But it also a physical death, because from that moment on our bodies begun to die.
Gen 3:1-6
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
satan starts off with calling God a liar.
When ever someone tells you that the word of God has mistakes or even says that a verse in the bible is not true, it’s a lie from the devil himself.
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
So satan fell at being like God, from Is 14:14 that we read.
So now he’s going to try to get man to do what he couldn’t do.
The Mormons that’s what they believe, that we can be like God and have our little world to rule.
Kenneth Copeland says the same thing.
He’s telling her, you want need God if you’re like him.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Temptation is pleasant to the eyes? And desirable.
First mistake they made was being were she could be tempted?
Matt 6:13 “And lead us not into temptation”
Adam chooses Eve over God, how many times have chose family, friends, or religion over God?
Now Adam has lost his rule, because of this:
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Adam and Eve chose to listen to the devil and obey him instead of God?
Adam goes from being ruler to being a slave, and slaves of no legal rights of deeds or titles.
Now satan is king over man and earth.
Now God being a just God, he could have just put satan in his place by power.
But since satan defeated a man, God said I will use a man to defeat satan.
You say why didn’t he use an angel, because God didn’t give rule over the earth to an angel.
God had to find a man who could take this on.
But there’s a problem, because Adam who is a slave now under satan, that makes us slaves also.
Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
God is speaking to the devil here and telling him, because of what he has done, this is what’s going to happen:
There is going to be a battle between the seed of the woman, who is Jesus, and the devil.
Bruise his heel, means when Jesus died on the cross they bruise his heel, and he died.
And because of Jesus defeating hell the grave, satan is no longer the head of those who believe in Jesus.
God sets out to bring a man, who could go against the devil.
Matt 1:18-20
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
The O.T. foretells about this in:
Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Now on Mary and the belief of the Immaculate Conception, I am not sure if the Catholics know what that really means.
They are saying that she was perfect without sin.
The reason is because if Jesus was without sin, it was because he had the blood of Mary and that means that Mary had no sin.
But if that were true, then Mary’s mother had to be without sin, and so on and so on.
All the way back to Eve, and we know she had sin.
Luke 1:46-47
46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
And that is why some pray to her.
The egg has no life without the father, so life comes from the father.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Joseph didn’t want her to be stoned to death because he loved her, but on the other hand he was going against Gods law.
So who is the father here? Holy Ghost which is who?
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Jesus was born without sin because of his father, God.
He was son of man because of the egg of Mary, but then he was son of God because that’s were his life came from.
Gal 4:3-5
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
We were slaves to the devil.
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
He was saying because Jesus was born of a women, that made everything legal.
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
We have the choice of being children of God or stay under slavery with the devil.
Now we see how God made the battle right with the devil, Jesus was made man because of Mary.
If Jesus would have sinned one time, he would become a slave just like us.
And he wouldn’t have been able to redeem us.
2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Heb 5:8-9
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Jesus being man had to learn to be obedient to the Father, the temptations that was brought before him, he was tempted just has we are.
And it says that he pass the test, and he became the one we need to go to for salvation.
Those who obey him?
Now we see that Jesus is qualified to take on the devil.
Phil 2:5-8
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
It saying to be like Jesus
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Jesus is 100% man, but here it shows that he was also 100% God.
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
He didn’t make himself known has God.
Servant doesn’t mean a slave to the devil, but a servant of God.
Again he was just like man, only without sin.
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Jesus was willing to suffer humiliation even to the point of death.
“Even the death of the cross” that was the most cruel painful and shameful way of dying.
John the Baptist was beheaded; many of his disciples were stoned to death.
Matt 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Jesus has a man was saying Lord if there is any other way, let this pass me.
But it’s not mine will, Lord, but yours I will do.
Luke 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Jesus couldn’t have died here because he had no sin; our bodies are dying because of sin?
Satan tried to get him to fall, like in:
Luke 4:5-7
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
Look at how much satan offer Jesus, to turn from God, we do it for a lot less?
John 10:18
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Jesus is saying, my father has commanded me to do this, and it’s my choice to obey.
Satan has been killing men since he became King of the earth, and he had the right to.
Rom 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death”
Heb 2:14 For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
The living bible says:
Heb 2:14 Because God's children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.
But satan made a mistake, and committed murder.
He killed Jesus who had no sin, and at the cross Jesus took on all the sins of the world and said;
Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
So Jesus didn’t commit sin, he just took them to the father.
John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Jesus died for our sins, now we can go to the father and ask for forgiveness.
John 12:31-32
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Who has power over whom?
Jesus wants everyone to be saved, but there’s only going to be a few.
Isa 14:12-14
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
